The 22 Battalions and 5 Training Schools of the Civil Security Department Chipped in with over Rs. 7 Million worth of essential food and medical items for those distressed as a result of floods. Miyanawala, Secretary, Ministry of Disaster Management on 23rd May 2016.
The Civil Security Department Spearheaded by the Director General Mr. Chandrarathne Pallegama provided cooked meals, water bottles and dry provisions to personnel affected by the floods in Wennawatta area of Wellampitiya on 20th May 2016
The annual Sinhala Avurudu Ulela of the Civil Security Department Hq was held at Tibet S. Mahinda Collage premises located adjacent to Wennawatta Force Hq.
The occasion was graced by the Director General, Mr. Chandrarathne Pallegama and President, Civil Security Department Seva Vanith Unit, Mrs. Lakshmi Pallegama as Chief Guests. The Additional Director General Rear Admiral Shemal Fernando, Directors and all Officers and their spouses were present.
The members of the CSD Force Hqs in Katunayake, Serupita and Wennawatta as well as Sub unit in Katunayake lively took part in numerous events conducted all along the day.
The inaugural Colours Awarding Ceremony of the Civil Security Department was held at BMICH, Colombo on 3rd May 2016 under the patronage of His Excellency the President.
The Civil Security Department and Department of Wildlife Conservation jointly conducted a workshop carrying all aspects of the operation of military forces across the country on 5th April 2016 in Wilpattu National Park.
